People howling over dog complaint process
City of Saskatoon reviewing complaint process
The city of Saskatoon is reviewing its complaint process for dealing with yapping dogs.
As it stands now, a person complaining must keep a five-day log detailing when the dog is barking.
One city councillor said the process doesn’t seem fair.
"You can appreciate that people who are being kept awake at all hours of the day and night by a barking dog are not terribly happy to then have to deal with such a long, lengthy procedure," said Ward 2 councillor Pat Lorje.
This is all part of an overall review of the city's animal bylaws. The findings will be known this fall. Lorje said she gets between five and 10 dog barking complaints a year.
