It's supposed to be a parkade for visitors, patients and staff at Royal University Hospital.

Instead, these days it's a construction zone.

And Health Region officials say that's not going to change anytime soon.

Portions of the RUH parkade will stay closed for the near future. It all has to do with the work underway on the Children's Hospital of Saskatchewan, going up next door to RUH.

Designers knew from the start that the new hospital would cut into the parkade.

But once the work started, it revealed some structural problems with the 40-year-old parkade.

Engineers are still looking for a fix.

Until then, parking will stay tight at RUH.
