Overnight garage fire causes $20,000 damage

Firefighters in Saskatoon had a busy Wednesday morning after responding to a garage fire in the 300 block of Avenue M North.

Firefighters in Saskatoon had a busy Wednesday morning after responding to a garage fire in the 300 block of Avenue M North.

In a news release, the fire department said that the call came in around 3 a.m. CST. Fire crews from two halls were deployed to the scene.

When those crews arrived they found that the fire was in the attic of the garage. They were able to put it out within 15 minutes by attacking the flames from inside the garage.

No one was hurt in the fire. The fire investigator determined the fire was caused by an electrical failure in the wiring.

The damage estimate is $20,000
