Two men are facing first degree murder charges in the death of 25-year-old Alexander "AJ" Holdner.

Kyle Scott and Robert McCamon made their first court appearances this afternoon. The suspects, aged 18 and 19, are both are from Young, Sask. That is also Holdner's hometown.

They were scheduled to appear in provincial court Monday afternoon to be formally charged.

Police discovered Holdner's body inside his black half-ton truck just before midnight Thursday. The truck was parked on the side of Circle Drive, near the 11th Street exit. There was no obvious signs of damage to the truck, except for a rear wheel that was in the ditch.

At the time, police described the death as suspicious. Over the weekend, they classified it as a homicide. They will not say how Holdner died.

The 25-year-old had recently moved to Saskatoon from Young.

Vanessa Hansford is from the village and was at the court house Monday. According to Hansford, the victim and the accused knew each. 

She also said she remembered Holdner as a fun-loving person.

"When I knew him, he was a great guy," she said. "Very funny, always had jokes and he was very helpful and he trusted everybody."
