Morris Hyrniuk charged with indecent assault at First Nations day school

A Prince Albert man is facing eight counts of indecent assault at the band-run Moosomin First Nation Day School.

Investigation dates back to 1964 and alleges eight counts

A Prince Albert man will be back in court next month charged with eight counts of indecent assault in a case that dates back to the early 1960s.

Battlefords RCMP allege that Morris Hryniuk assaulted students at the Moosomin First Nation Day School in 1964.

The facility was run by the band and was not a residential school.

The school no longer exists.

Hryniuk has not yet entered a plea.
