An autistic Saskatoon boy who was last seen leaving to catch his school bus Friday morning has been found on the city's outskirts.
Saskatoon police say 15-year-old Austin Carter was spotted by a resident north of the city near Wanuskewin Heritage Park shortly before 11:30 p.m. CST Friday night.
Carter was last seen Friday morning when he left his home on Lindsay Drive, a street on the city's east side approximately 15 kilometres south of the heritage park.
He was reported missing Friday afternoon.
In a statement Friday night, police said Carter, who "made his way on foot" to the park, may have suffered mild hypothermia. He was treated at the scene by members of MD Ambulance.
The search effort involved patrol officers, members of the Saskatoon Public Safety Unit, and volunteers with Saskatoon Search and Rescue.
