Meewasin Valley Authority aims to extend trail
Project expected to cost $8M to complete
The jewel of Saskatoon's riverbank may soon stretch out across the entire length of the city.
This morning, the Meewasin Valley Authority launched a capital fundraising campaign to extend the Meewasin Trail.
The plan is to extend the trail nearly 16 kilometres on its north and south ends. The project is expected to cost $8 million to complete.
The province and the city have both chipped in already. Today, PotashCorp added $500,000 to the project.
Sod was turned today to begin construction of the trail at the new Circle Drive South Bridge.
