Saskatoon police are investigating the armed robbery of a restaurant late Wednesday evening.

At about 11 p.m., police were called to a restaurant in the 2900 block of 8th Street East after a staff member reported that a masked man, armed with a knife, entered the business through a back door.

The man demanded money. Police said he fled on foot with a cash box in hand.

The man ran to Lindsay Place, where he was seen getting away in a small, newer-model black car, with a dim or burnt out tail light on the right hand side.

The man is described as six-foot-two in height. He wore a black mask, pants and gloves. He was also wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 975-8300, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
