A man and a woman from Humboldt Sask., have been charged after an RCMP traffic stop turned up five pounds of marijuana. (CBC)

A man and a woman from Humboldt, Sask., have been charged after an RCMP traffic stop turned up 2.3 kilograms of marijuana.

Monday night around 10:30 p.m. CST, RCMP performed the traffic stop on Highway 5 just outside of Humboldt.

A 58-year-old man and 55-year-old woman were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

They both will make their first court appearance on April 10.  

Humboldt is located 113 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
