Pleaded guilty to stealing $80k from 60 victims

A Saskatoon man who defrauded prospective renters in an apartment scam is going to jail.

Jason Hartlen pleaded guilty to defrauding 60 victims of $80,000.

He stole from people in Saskatoon, Vancouver and Calgary.

Hartlen ran an apartment ad on the Kijiji website.

He then met with prospective renters and took deposits.

But -- he did not own the apartment.

A judge sentenced him to 18 months behind bars.

He's already been in jail for six months.
