A missing patient from Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital has been located "safe, healthy and happy" in his home community of Sandy Bay, almost 600 kilometres away.

A missing man from Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital was found hundreds of kilometres away, at his home in Sandy Bay.

A missing patient from Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital has been located "safe, healthy and happy" in his home community of Sandy Bay, almost 600 kilometres away.

Saskatoon police reported that 56-year-old Jerry James McCallum went missing from the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

He was being treated for a head injury. Police said McCallum knew someone in Saskatoon and caught a ride home.

Police said the man appears to be in good condition.
