Saskatoon police charged four people with weapons offences after a high-risk traffic stop yesterday in Caswell Hill.

Just after 4 p.m., officers were dispatched to a weapons call in the 600 block of Idylwyld Drive. The vehicle — carrying two 25-year-old males, and two females, 30 and 36 years old — sped off when police arrived.

Officers pulled the vehicle over in the area of 30th Street and Avenue C and discovered firearm ammunition, a can of bear spray, two hammers and a hatchet.

All four people were charged with possession of dangerous weapons. They were also charged with a variety of other offences.
