Saskatoon police have charged a 36-year-old man they say was found carrying a loaded pistol after a break and enter.
At about 11:55 p.m. CST on Friday, police responded to a call about a break and enter into a detached garage on the 1600 block of Cairns Avenue.
Police say the suspect fled when officers arrived but a police dog was able to track the man down.
When police searched him, they say they found a loaded automatic 7.65-mm Skorpion machine pistol.
Police said the man was also carrying a switchblade and crystal methamphetamine.
He is scheduled to appear before a justice of the peace on Saturday facing drug and weapon charges.
