Firefighters in Saskatoon had to brave the cold and the flames Monday evening, as they responded to a garbage truck fire at the city yards on King Street.

When fire crews arrived at the city yards just after 9 p.m.. CST, they found smoke pouring out of an open garage door.

In a news release, the fire department said crews found a garbage truck on fire inside the garage. Crews were able to get that fire out quickly in the -30 C temperatures, but not before the fire did $250,000 damage.

 No one was injured.
