Electric car fill up station opens in Saskatoon

Sun Country's quest for "green" highway now includes Saskatoon stop.

Charge station located at Bessborough Hotel

A silver 2012 Tesla electric roadster raced into Saskatoon today.

At the wheel was Sun Country Highway founder Kent Rathwell. The Saskatchewan-based company sells electric car chargers and is also working to build what it calls "the world's longest green highway."

The idea is to establish a network of charging stations across Canada. Most are located at hotels and auto repair shops.

In Saskatoon, the Sun Country Highway charging station is at the Bessborough Hotel and today, it had its official unveiling.

Regina has had a charging station for some time. It is located right on the Trans Canada Highway.
