Police are investigating a deadly accident this morning on Circle Drive that left one man dead.

It happened just after 5 a.m. CST. A Silverado half-ton heading southbound on Circle Drive went through the guardrail and landed on its roof near the intersection of 14th Street East and Carleton Drive.

The lone male occupant of that truck is dead.

Police initially closed off 14th Street between Arlington Drive and Acadia Drive. Officers also narrowed Circle Drive to one southbound lane, and closed the 14th Street offramp.

Traffic investigators are on the scene.

Police now say a number of traffic restrictions will be in place through the day because of the accident.

14th Street eastbound and the 14th Street offramp will remain closed, but the northbound onramp is open. Southbound Circle Drive East is open in one lane only.
