Six guests at a housewarming party Friday in St. Denis were hospitalized, after the deck they were standing on collapsed.

A housewarming party east of Saskatoon came to an abrupt end Friday evening.

The hosts of the party told CBC/Radio-Canada they had 25 guests on their back deck in St. Denis, when the deck collapsed. It was roughly four metres off the ground when it fell apart.

16 people fell to the ground below. Six had to be treated in hospital for concussions and open wounds.

The RCMP is investigating.

The owners of the house say a lawsuit against the company that built the deck is a possibility.
