This weekend it's all about the cheerleaders. 1,200 competitors from all over the province are coming to the University of Regina for the 2014 Cheerleading Championships.

This is all about entertainment, bragging rights, and most importantly, one lucky team will make it into the Cheerleading Worlds.

It's all happening in the Kinesiology Building at the U of R Saturday.

Going Solo

He knows what it's like to top the charts with pop rock group Mariana's Trench and now Matt Webb is taking a turn solo.

It's a softer sound for Webb, who's used to shredding it as lead guitar with the award winning band.

Webb has just released his first solo album Right Direction. The artist will stretch out musically on stage at the Exchange on Sunday night.

Rock fans are pumped to get a chance to see classic American blues rockers ZZ Top. The band has been at it since the 1970's.

The original lineup is back out on the road for a tour of the U.S. and Canada. There's one date in this province. ZZ Top will rock the roof off Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw Friday night.

If you like wandering around checking out the merchandise and seeing artist work, firearms, antiques and jewellery, head over to Prairieland Park.

The Saskatoon Collector's Show is the largest of it's kind on the prairies. Outdoor enthusiasts will be there to check it out on Friday and Saturday.

Diana Panton

Diana Panton plays the Bassment in Saskatoon this weekend. (Jose Crespo)

Diana Panton is an award winning vocalist and has her masters in French literature. She's a class act and has been on a bit of a tour through Saskatchewan in the last couple of weeks. This weekend, she caps it off with a show at the Bassment.

Panton is bringing her band along with her. This show is featuring songs from Panton's new release, Red, and is filled with standards by artist's like Cole Porter and the Gerswhin brothers.

The best part about this show is that it's an all ages one, so bring the family. That's Saturday night at the Bassment.
