A Saskatoon high school is asking for the public's help to find a new name for its sports teams.

Last month, Bedford Road Collegiate was told to rename its sports teams by the Saskatoon Public School Board.

Some people found the Redmen name and logo offensive.

Now, after weeks of consulting with students, the school is asking for public submissions.

"We don't have any preconceived ideas," said Principal Cory Hanke. "There are lots of possibilities out there. Doesn't have to be an animal name or anything like that. I think the sky's the limit in terms of possibilities," he said.

The controversy surrounding the Redmen name grabbed headlines across the country. However, Hanke believes the conflict is now over.

"We're not looking back from here on in," he said. "We're moving forward, looking for the opportunity that lies before us."
