They claimed victory in one fight.
Now the organizers of a petition that helped convince one Saskatoon hotel to cancel an African hunting exposition are going after the alternate venue, the Travelodge.
Last month, the Saskatoon Inn cancelled a two-day trade show hosted by African Events Canada that showcased safari and hunting trips. The hotel received an electronic petition signed by thousands of people.
Kris Williams posted the latest petition online. After just 48 hours, more than 4,000 had signed the new call to action, urging the Travelodge Hotel in Saskatoon to cancel the event.
According to the petition, the show organized by The African Hunting Gazette and African Events Canada is set for the weekend of January 23rd and 24th at the Travelodge.
African Events Canada's webpage clearly lists the Travelodge as the new venue.
The new online petition against the event suggested "It's time for Travelodge Hotel and parent company, Airline Hotels, to live up to their self-proclaimed values and to align with the 91% of Canadians who oppose sport hunting by canceling their booking of the African Hunting Events expo."
It asks people to sign the new petition and call the hotel.
