A man who led police on a wild chase last night on the city's west side is now in custody.

It started just after 9 p.m. CST when officers spotted a car at 22nd Street and Confederation Drive they believed had a man they wanted on outstanding warrants.

Police turned on their flashers, and the suspect took off north on Confederation Drive.

The suspect then hit a northbound car on John A. MacDonald Road, bouncing that car into a parked car. At some point, the fleeing driver's car caught on fire.

Police then spotted the burning car -- empty -- rolling down 33rd Street. It then hit a city bus and came to a stop.

A female passenger in the suspect's car was arrested and taken to hospital with minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

More to come.
