2 Huskies picked in CFL draft
Charlie Power and Levi Steinhauer get shot at CFL
A pair of University of Saskatchewan Huskies were picked in the 2013 CFL draft.
Receiver Charlie Power and defensive lineman Levi Steinhauer learned Monday they have a chance to join the roster of a CFL team. Power was picked in the fourth round (28th overall) by the Calgary Stampeders. Steinhauer was scooped up by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the fifth round (40th overall).
Power caught 18 passes for 231 yards and recorded two touchdowns last season. The Okotoks, Alta., player spent his first two seasons playing linebacker. He recorded 25 tackles and picked up one fumble.
Moose Jaw native Steinhauer racked up 30 tackles and five sacks last season. If he makes the team, he will be the sixth former Huskie on the Riders roster for the upcoming season.
Since 1985, 54 Huskies have been drafted.
