Woman dies in crash with moose on Sask. highway
RCMP say the woman, 23, died after her vehicle crashed into a moose and landed in water Friday
A woman died Friday evening near Bankend, Sask., after RCMP say her car crashed into a moose on Highway 35 and landed in a nearby body of water.
It happened at 10:15 p.m. CST, approximately 7 km south of the community.
The 23-year-old driver's car landed in a slough alongside the highway following the crash. RCMP say she was found dead in the car.
Investigators are still looking into the crash. Crash reconstruction experts closed part of Highway 35 in the area overnight while they analyzed the scene. It was re-opened by Saturday morning.
The Coroner's office is also investigating. An autopsy is scheduled for next week.
Police have not released the woman's name.
Bankend is about 84 km north of Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask.
