A woman living on a Prince Albert-area First Nation has been charged with second-degree murder after her partner died after being hit by a vehicle.
Valerie Standing, 26, of Wahpeton Dakota Nation has also been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing the death of Brant Fox, 28.
The charges stem from a death Wednesday on the reserve, which is northeast of the city.
Prince Albert RCMP said at around 2:40 a.m. CST, it was reported that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.
Police and emergency responders went to the scene, but the man, Fox, was dead.
Following an investigation, Standing was charged on Thursday.
She appeared briefly in Prince Albert provincial court on Friday and has been remanded in custody.
A bail hearing hasn't been held yet. She'll back in court on April 22.
