Woman, 41, dead after SUV rolls into slough near Strasbourg
The vehicle drifted before hitting several large rocks and rolling into the water.
A woman is dead after her vehicle drifted into some rocks and rolled into a slough approximately two kilometres west of Strasbourg overnight Thursday.
Sometime between 11:00 p.m. CST and 6:20 a.m. CST Friday, the 41-year-old woman from the resort community of Collingwood Estates, was driving on a grid road that extends from Highway 731.
According to investigators, her SUV drifted to the left side of the road and onto the grass before hitting several large rocks.
The SUV rolled onto its side and landed in a slough near the road.
The woman died at the scene. There were no passengers with her in the vehicle.
RCMP say there was fog in the area, which may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
Police had the scene of the crash cleared just after 10 a.m. CST Friday.
It is unknown if alcohol was a factor. An autopsy has been ordered.
