A 23-year-old woman is dead after being thrown from a pickup truck in a rollover near Mayfair, Sask., on Wednesday morning. RCMP said the woman was a passenger in the truck that rolled on a grid road near the village, which is about 70 kilometres northeast of North Battleford.
Following the crash, which happened around 3:10 a.m. CST, she was taken to hospital where she was declared dead.
The truck was driven by a 25-year-old man who was also thrown from the vehicle and received injuries police described as non-life-threatening.
He's being treated in hospital in North Battleford. Neither of them was wearing seatbelts, the RCMP said.
Police haven't named the woman but said she's from Harris, Sask. The man is from Richard.
Police continue to investigate the accident. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor, the RCMP said.
