Regina police have charged a woman, 19, with second-degree murder in the death of a 37-year-old woman Friday.
Officers were called to a home on the 1800 block of Atkinson Street at about 1:47 a.m. CST where they found Heather Rae-Anne Lavallee seriously injured.
She was taken to hospital, but died from her injuries at about 3 a.m. CST.
A man at the home was also treated for minor injuries.
After police searched the scene they were led to a second home on the same block. A man and two women were taken into custody without incident and were questioned by police.
Later Friday police charged Melanie Nicole Bird with second-degree murder and attempted murder.
She is scheduled to appear in a Regina courtroom on Monday.
The other two people are not facing charges.
This is Regina's fourth homicide of the year.
