RCMP in North Battleford are praising the quick action of two Good Samaritans in helping to save a young woman's life.

Shortly after 6 p.m. CST, the two found the woman on Hereford Street in the industrial part of the city.

She held what police said was a "large, sharp piece of glass" and had apparently used it to cause a severe injury to her arm.

One of the witnesses used a piece of wood to get the woman to drop the glass.

After that, the two were able to stem the bleeding with a tourniquet until emergency crews arrived.

The injured woman was then rushed to hospital. She's listed in stable condition, the RCMP said.
