A simple dare, shared on social media, is catching on across the country including Saskatchewan where people are participating in activities to defy the winter weather.

The Winter Challenge, which has its origins in B.C., invites people to done summer clothes and do a winter activity.

In Regina Shana Pasap, wearing only shorts and a T-shirt, made a snow angel.

"I thought I could sit it out, but my cousin nominated me so here I am," Pasap told CBC News Tuesday. "I think the objective was just to get people out of the house and active."

Once someone is asked to take the challenge, they have 24 hours to act.
