Winnipeg man accused of trying to poison ex-wife
Regina police have arrested a Winnipeg man who is accused of trying to poison his ex-wife.
Lyle Derek White, 35, was arrested Thursday following an allegation he had broken into the woman's Regina home.
While investigating that incident, police gathered evidence about an alleged attempted murder.
It's alleged that on April 7, the man placed a harmful substance in a soft drink in the woman's refrigerator.
Police said they've seized some evidence and sent it away for testing.
White was scheduled to make his first appearance in Regina provincial court Friday charged with attempted murder, break and enter, and possession of stolen property.
