It's a mixed bag when it comes to what civic services are open and closed in Regina and Saskatoon today.

All civic buildings such as city halls and libraries are closed.

However, people looking to go for a swim or work out are in luck.

Facilities that are open in Regina include the North West Leisure Centre (noon-6 p.m.), the Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre (noon-6 p.m.), and the Fieldhouse at the Sportplex (9 a.m.-7 p.m.).

The Lawson Aquatic Centre is closed for annual maintenance and upgrades until Sept. 13, but  Wascana Pool opened at 8 a.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m. All other outdoor pools in Regina are open noon-6 p.m.

According to the City of Saskatoon website, today is the last day the spray pads will be open and the last day for Lathey and Riversdale Pools.

Saskatoon residents who want to play badminton, lift weights or partake in other activities at city leisure facilities can check out the live online schedule.

Garbage and recycling pickup continues as usual however, and the landfill is open in both cities on its regular summer hours.

City parking is also free today in both Regina and Saskatoon.
