Water over road hampers motorists near Tisdale
The town of Tisdale, Sask., was almost an island overnight Friday after police closed one of the highways in the area due to a flooded section.
Water was flowing over Highway 35, near Highway 3 south of town, and RCMP said they closed the road around midnight as a safety precaution.
The water flowing over the road was carrying debris, they noted.
By about 3 a.m. CST Saturday, police opened the road to traffic but were advising "extreme caution" as water was still flowing over the highway.
It was not immediately clear what was behind the localized flooding, but there were several thunderstorms and rain showers across Saskatchewan on Friday.
Tisdale is about 200 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
