The water in northwest Regina might look a little funny today, but it's safe to drink, the city says.

Monday was the first day the city was using its new pumping station to supply water to homes in the Argyle Park, Lakeridge and Rochdale areas.

The city says because the flow is being changed, the water may be discoloured for a few days.

The reason for the change is to boost water pressure, although that won't happen until 2013 when a new water main being built along Pasqua Street North and Rochdale Boulevard is connected.
