Police in Saskatoon are looking for three men after a woman was stabbed, a car was damaged and a bystander threatened with a sawed-off shotgun.
According to police, the violence started at a home in the 100 block of Avenue S South around 10:20 p.m. CT.
"From witnesses it was learned that three male suspects entered the home forcefully by kicking open the door and stabbed the female victim," police said in a news release.
The injured woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
"There was some indication that the female knows the assailants," police noted.
Shortly after the alleged home invasion, police were called about another violent incident just a few blocks away in the 200 block of Avenue M South.
Police said a witness noticed three men trying to break into a vehicle. Police said the three suspects were likely the same involved in the earlier home invasion and stabbing.
"When challenged by the witness, one of the suspects ... pointed a sawed-off shotgun at the witness," police said.
The three men then took off.
Police said they brought in a tracking dog to try and locate the suspects, but that did not work out.
The two incidents were still under investigation.
