Every possible bed at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert is being used, officials say, leading the health region to advise people to only go to the hospital for true emergencies.

The region said emergency department staff will tend to patients with life-threatening or serious health concerns first, and other patients will have to wait.

Officials suggested non-emergency patients try a walk-in medical clinic in order to see a doctor.

"Anyone with a non-urgent injury or illness may have to wait more than two hours," the region said.
