Twin baby boys who died not victims of crime, RCMP say
7-month-olds found not breathing on northern Saskatchewan reserve
Police say the twin baby boys from northern Saskatchewan who died last December were not the victims of a crime.
Members of the Loon Lake RCMP detachment responded to a 911 call on Dec. 9 about two seven-month-old boys who were not breathing.
The boys were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead shortly after arrival. An autopsy was conducted.
The deaths were originally classified as suspicious and the case was investigated by the Loon Lake detachment and the RCMP major crimes unit.
However, on Wednesday Loon Lake RCMP said cause of the deaths has been determined to be "non-criminal in nature."
Police have not disclosed what caused the deaths.
