A car and a train were in a collision in foggy conditions south of Regina Friday morning, leaving one person with minor injuries.

The crash involving a red car and a CP Rail train happened around 6:35 a.m. CST, about 40 kilometres south of the city.

An ambulance took away one person for treatment.

Traffic was backed up around the crash, near the intersection of Highway 6 and Highway 334.

Police and CP officials remained at the scene throughout the morning.

It's not yet known if the fog was a factor in the crash.

Police said amid icy conditions, a number of vehicles have gone off the roads around Regina.

They're telling people to slow down and check the Highway Hotline before heading out.
