Teen with toy guns charged in Saskatoon
A 16-year-old boy is facing two gun-related charges, after allegedly pointing a toy gun at cars in Saskatoon.
Police say they got a number of calls starting at 10 a.m. CST on Sunday.
Drivers told them a suspect had pointed a handgun at them as they passed by the area of Berini Drive and Attridge Drive, on the east side of the city, close to St. Joseph High School.
Police could not find anyone when they got there, but within half an hour, another call came in reporting a similar incident in the 400 block of 115th St.
A lone patrol officer approached the boy, who immediately surrendered and was arrested and searched.
Police said they found two toy handguns on him. He's being held in custody until a first court appearance.
The youth has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace as well an additional count of carrying a concealed weapon.
