Teen killed in hit and run on Red Earth reserve
A 13-year-old girl is dead following what police are calling a hit and run on the Red Earth First Nation.
According to RCMP, the girl was walking along a road around 9:30 p.m. CST Monday when she was struck from behind by a vehicle that left the scene.
The girl was walking south on the main entrance road to the reserve, which is about 73 kilometres east of Nipawin, Saskatchewan.
Police said residents of the community tried to revive her at the scene. An ambulance crew also tried to save her but she died from her injuries.
The girl's name was not being released.
