Charges have now been laid in connection to the death of a newborn baby more than two years ago.
Police combed the Saskatoon landfill in November 2010 in search of the body of a baby girl.
Police said a teen had given birth in her home and threw out the dead body.
They searched for seven days before giving up.
Now, police say a recent investigation has led to charges.
The woman involved, who is 19, has been charged with not getting help with childbirth and concealing the body of a child.
She will appear in court May 1.
