Teen arrested after taxi allegedly robbed with machete in Regina
The 17-year-old will appear in court on Monday
A 17-year-old has been charged after a taxi was allegedly robbed in Regina early Saturday morning.
Police were called to the 1000 block of Pasqua Street at around 5:45 a.m. CST.
A taxi driver told officers that at the end of a fare a man took out a machete and held it to the driver. The driver was able to get away but his hand was cut.
Police said the suspect fled on foot, leaving the machete behind.
The teenager was arrested a short time later and was charged with armed robbery.
He will appear in provincial court on Monday morning.
