The suspicious item that was removed from the parking lot of Saskatoon's airport by a remote-control police robot Tuesday turned out to be just a piece of pipe, and not an explosive device police say.
The item was discovered around noon and led to some detours into the airport, but did not affect flight operations.
It was found on a guardrail near a truck parked in the lot.
When police removed the item to a secure location, and had a closer look, they determined it was just a piece of pipe.
Traffic in the area was back to normal around 4 p.m.
