After surviving a horrific incident  in Prince Albert, Sask., that killed two kittens, a mother cat and her surviving offspring are getting a fresh start.

Earlier this month, the Siamese cat and her five kittens were put in two backpacks, and placed behind the wheels of a car in a parking lot.

One of the bags was run over before the driver noticed.

Two kittens died, while the mother and three other kittens survived.

Now, Larry and Nellie Bleile from Biggar have adopted the mother cat. Two of the kittens have also been adopted.

The person who placed the bags under the car has not been caught.
