Submerged truck may have been left on winter ice
Similar truck was reported stolen about a year ago
RCMP from Rose Valley, Sask., are looking into the discovery of a vehicle submerged in water.
The vehicle, a Ford Explorer Sport Trac, was spotted Monday morning in Nut Lake on the Yellow Quill First Nation. It was about 15 metres from shore, RCMP said.
RCMP said they are investigating and, so far, do not believe anyone is inside the vehicle. However that will be confirmed Friday when the Mounties' underwater recovery team is scheduled to arrive.
They said it is likely the truck was driven onto the lake when it was covered in ice. They added the truck may be the same vehicle that was reported stolen, about a year ago, from a farm south of Rose Valley. That will also be confirmed once the vehicle identification number and licence plate are checked.
