Police believe they have found the body of a three-year-old boy who was killed in a large fire northwest of Esterhazy, Sask.
When emergency crews arrived to the Rural Municipality of Grayson at about 7 p.m., the house was up in flames.
Family members tried to find the boy inside before fleeing, but were unable to because of the thick, black smoke.
Officers looked for the child outside the home with a police dog, but could not locate him.
Firefighters tried to battle the blaze, but the home was completely destroyed.
Police had to wait until Friday morning to search for the child's body inside the house. They found what they think are the his remains.
An autopsy has been ordered to confirm the identity of the body.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
