Firms from across Canada were in Regina looking for skilled workers. (CBC)Employers from across Canada descended on Regina to try and recruit some skilled labour.
Many of the firms at a one-day job fair event said they are facing labour shortages and are scouring the country looking for talent.
Larry Wear, a training officer for a construction company in Vancouver, says recruiting has been hard.
"The labour pool is basically drying up," Wear said. "It's hard to find employees with any kind of trades."
Wear said things have changed from days when it was easy to find people.
Now employers are doing everything they can think of, to attract qualified workers.
"When was the last time you actually saw companies driving around with signs on their truck looking for employees?" he said.
The most sought-after skills at the fair were in the construction trades and information technology.
