Caution urged for snowmobilers after 2 crashes

RCMP are reminding people to take extra caution when snowmobiling after two separate crashes Saturday.
Officers responded to a collision in the Veregin, Sask. area after a woman drove a snowmobile off a 12-metre embankment.
She was airlifted to a Regina hospital to be treated for a broken leg and chest trauma.
Police said the woman's injuries are serious, but not life-threatening.
RCMP are investigating and said alcohol cannot be ruled out as a possible factor.
Earlier Saturday police responded to another snowmobile crash where a 50-year-old man lost control and hit a tree.
Police said the man hit a rut in a trail about 70 km north of Smeaton, Sask., near Upper Fishing Lake.
Other snowmobilers brought him back to his cottage, where he was assessed by emergency crews. He did not suffer any injuries.
The man was an experienced rider who was wearing all the necessary gear, police said.
