Three big trucks got stuck under a notoriously crash-prone underpass on Regina's Winnipeg Street on Wednesday.

The underpass, near the corner of Winnipeg and Dewdney Avenue, has a sign that says it's for trucks no higher than 3.8 metres.

It's been the scene of numerous stuck semis over the years.

The City of Regina says there are appropriate warning signs as truckers approach.

The provincial trucking association says for trucks close to the maximum height, the clearance is tight and any buildup of ice and snow on the roads could cause them to get stuck.

Various fixes have been suggested over the years, including posting Imperial and metric signs.

Meanwhile, some truckers insist they didn't make a mistake — it's just that the underpass is lower than advertised or the road is uneven.
