CBC News correspondent Mellissa Fung was the featured speaker at an event in Saskatoon Tuesday as part of International Women's Day.

Fung spoke to the audience about her experiences as a foreign reporter in Afghanistan, including her being captured and held hostage for 28 days.

She also spoke about some of the incredible women she met while working in the region.

"This is why I'm here," Fung said. "I can talk about my story. Because they can't talk about theirs."
