Saskatoon man accused of killing wife will go to trial

A massive search was launched after Dorothy 'Dot' Woods disappeared in November 2011. Her body was found south of Saskatoon in January, 2012. Her husband David Woods has been charged with 1st-degree murder. (CBC)The case of a Saskatoon man accused of murdering his wife will go directly to trial, court heard Tuesday.
David Woods has been charged with the first-degree murder of Dorothy "Dot" Woods.
Originally, a preliminary hearing was planned to determine whether the Crown's case is strong enough to take to trial.
However, on Tuesday, Woods confirmed that he has waived his right to that hearing, meaning the case will move forward.
The dates for the trial haven't been set yet.
Dot Woods was last seen Nov. 12, 2011. Her disappearance sparked a police investigation and an extensive search by family and friends.
Her body was found in January, 2012, about 40 kilometres south of Saskatoon.
